Earth Week is GO LOCAL! Week

*Developing awareness of the Local - Green connection through encouraging local businesses and services to use this week as a 'Go Local!' week. They are also encouraged to participate through hosting other events at their locations.

*Place 'Go Local!' signs in your front window and spread the word!

    TASKS:
    *Go Local! Campaign sign (one to advertise the week, the other for the week [Earth Week is Go Local! Week]
    Cathryn volunteered to make one - nice.
    We want one that is simple and can be photo copied. We can also make a bigger one to have as an option but this would cost businesses.

    *We need Go Local Event ideas to share with businesses. (Use local food/products that week, etc.) Do you have any?

    *Ask businesses to come up with their own way to "Be Local" that week.

    *Other?

    *Paul will contact Cooperative Extension / ADK Harvest to see if they would be interested in organizing this week with their members.

    *Handout - WE NEED TO MAKE A SIMPLE HANDOUT TO SHARE WITH BUSINESSES - Paul will work on this.

    *WE NEED MANY PEOPLE TO START CONTACTING BUSINESSES AND ASKING THEM TO COMPLETE THE ON-LINE GREEN NETWORK SURVEY THAT INCLUDES WHAT THEY MIGHT DO FOR EARTH DAY/WEEK.
    BRING FRIENDS TO THE NEXT MEETING - WEDNESDAY, MARCH 4TH 6:45 AT THE COOP.

    The proposed Go Local! sign was ok'd with modifications at last night's meeting, the new Green Committee logo will be incorporated in the final design.
